President Ramkalawan Congratulates Military Forces following Arrest of Iranian dhow carrying drugs – African Business

President Wavel Ramkalawan, Commander in Chief of the Seychelles Defence Forces (SDF) has congratulated the military forces on the arrest of an Iranian dhow carrying illicit drugs in the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).
In a message to Brigadier Rosette the Chief of Defence Forces, he congratulated both the Seychelles Coast Guards as well as the Seychelles Air Force, and Special Forces on a well coordinated mission. “Despite the enormous risks and rough seas, you acted bravely and faced the challenge to complete the operation to intercept the Iranian dhow. You have destroyed a valuable consignment heroine and saved our nation’s youth from this poisonous substance that is destroying families, communities, and our nation. I salute your determination.”
He reminded people that their government remains committed to fighting drug abuse and made a special appeal for Seychelles citizens to be part in this fight so that our children can live in safer environments.
