Kampala, (SONNA) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, His Excellency Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and his delegation, which started their official visit to Uganda, were warmly welcomed in Kampala, the capital city.
President Hassan Sheikh is scheduled to meet with the leaders of to strengthen and support the fight to liberate the country from Al-Shabab terrorists. This will allow him to gain support at the regional level for ongoing operations and to strengthen security cooperation.
Also, the President, while he is in Uganda, will participate with the heads of state in commemorating the 60th anniversary of Uganda’s independence.
The President of the Republic congratulated the people and the government of Uganda on the 60th anniversary of the country’s independence which they are celebrating these days, pointing out that the people and the government of Somalia are grateful for the role the Ugandan army are taking in Somalia’s peace and stability.
