Washington (SONNA) – President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud attended a reception hosted by Joe Biden, President of the United States.
“The head of state praised the US government for its role in the fight against Al-Shabaab terrorists, which is a challenge to the lives and development of the Somali people and the region as a whole” read in part a presidential statement.
He also mentioned that the government and Somalians are working together to liberate their country.
“With selfless and courageous, our people are now at battlefields in anti-terror war, and this requires international support,” the president added.
The USA is a strategic ally Somalia’s development and progress “of whom we look forward to further enhancing our bilateral ties to advance regional peace”.
