The Former Plan Combatants Association would like to be recognized as a military wing within the Swapo.

Ongwediva is hosting a reunion of former combatants of the People’s Liberation Army of Namibia.

Charles Mubita, the spokesperson for the association, stated that Plan was a military wing within Swapo during liberation struggle and should therefore be recognized as such.

“We want our association to become a military wing within the party so that our grievances can be heard and taken into consideration. We fought for the country until it was independent. He stated that 16 delegates from the association will attend the party congress. Four candidates are also up for election at this congress.”

The association was formed by ex-Plan combatants in November 2020. It is affiliated to Swapo.

The association’s purpose is to unite all ex-combatants who still believe in the ideology of Swapo, and to protect the party against evil forces. It also aims to improve the well-being and restore dignity of its members.

The reunion of former Plan combatants, which began on Thursday, ends on Sunday.
