Bright Okpocha (also known as Basketmouth), has announced that he is not with Elsie Okpocha.
This was revealed by the comedian in a statement posted to his Instagram account on Thursday.
Basketmouth said the announcement came after “much deliberations” between himself and his wife.
He said that they will continue to coparent their children and urged the public to respect their decision.
“As much as it pains me to bring my personal life to the public space, this is an unavoidable situation. After much deliberations, my wife and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage,” he wrote.
“As we move forward separately, we will continue to work together to give our beautiful children all the care, love, guidance and support they need.
“We humbly ask that you respect our privacy as we navigate through these times. Thank you.”
Bright and Elsie got married in 2010. The union has been blessed with three children so far.
They celebrated their 11th anniversary by lavishing encomium on one another in November 2012.
Basketmouth wrote: “Happy anniversary to you Elsie Okpocha, thanks for choosing me, thanks for saying yes, thanks for giving me a beautiful home and thank you for being my wife. Love you forever”.
On her part, Elsie added: “Forever and for always is what we will always be…. I love you till eternity baby. Happy 11th anniversary to us”.
