Department of Economic Development of the Ministry of Planning holds a meeting – Somali National News Agency
Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Department of Economic Development of the Ministry of Planning, Investment and Economic Development of the Federal Government of Somalia held a consultation meeting in Mogadishu on the Pillar of Economic Development of the National Development Plan (NDP-9) and the preliminary activities of the National Government Plan.
All Ministries of the Economic Pillar of the Country attended the meeting. Several points were discussed, including the strengthening and coordination the direct economic pillar, the setting of a strategy, and the agreement to improve cooperation between the Ministries of Production in the country to reduce poverty.
The Conference analyzed the following points:
1. Economic development requires integration and cooperation in certain decisions.
2: Confirmation that the government has followed the process of financial self-sufficiency under the National-Interest (DAN-KARAN government).
3. To create a consultation process and keep it going with a focus on a transparent and strategic system.
4. To coordinate all the existing Departments and sources of economic production, which are the foundation of the country’s economic resources.
The Ministry of Planning’s Economic Development Department will implement specific strategies to support the sector. This is in order to promote economic growth by modernizing and improving the sectors and strengthening production for sustainable development.
H.E Mohamud Abdirahman, the Minister for Planning, Investment and Economic Development, (Beene Beene), praised economic growth in the country and encouraged domestic production, which was the second priority of Dan-Karan’s government, to reach economic self-sufficiency.
