Islamic Agency to provide cash transfer to Ijara residents – Kenya News Agency

For three months, Islamic relief agency will transfer cash to 200 households in four estates of Ijara sub County.

Abdullahi Idle, agency managing director, stated that each family will receive Sh9222 per month for three months.

Idle noted that the targeted villages include Gababa, bulla dualle, bulla gona, and Bulla dahir estate within masalani town, Ijara sub County.

He stated that the cash transfer program is a strategy to alleviate the drought currently ravaging the region.

The deputy County commissioner praised the move and encouraged other NGOs in the area, to share their programmes with sub County steering groups to avoid duplication.

He praised the Islamic Relief Agency for collaborating with the government in concerted efforts in combating drought in the area.

Last week, the sub county steering group delivered 200 bags of rice, 360 bags of beans and 100 cartons of corned beef to 87 distribution centres in Ijara Sub County meant for drought stricken families in the area and also special institutions like Alfurqan orphanage centre, Hara and Kotile boarding primary schools as well as Shurie boys’ secondary school.

The meeting was attended among others by departmental heads, Abass Shurie the sub County Administrator, Ijara constituency officer representative Iman Kosar, and Abass, the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims Ijara Branch official sheikh Abass.
