Funeral Service of Veteran Freedom Fighter Tekeste Baire – African Business

Today, 8 October, saw the funeral of Mr. Tekeste Barre, General Secretary of National Confederation of Eritrean Workers. It was held at noon at Asmara Martyrs Cemetery. There were Ministers, senior Government and PFDJ officials, representatives of regional union partners, as well as a number of nationals.

Mr. Yosuf Siq, head of Organizational Affairs of PFDJ, Ms. Leul Gereab, Minister of Labor and Social Welfare and Mr. Kibreab Kidane are Deputy General Secretaries of the National Confederation of Eritrean Workers and Mr. Kasahun Folo, President of Confederation of Ethiopian Trade Unions, as well as his daughter Delina Tekeeste, who laid a wreath at the cemetery.

Veteran freedom fighter Mr. Tekeste Barre, who joined the EPLF 1976, served his country and people in various capacities at Eritrean Workers Association in Europe (EWAE) and as head of Public Administration in the Southern Europe Region.

Veteran freedom fighter Mr. Tekeste Baar served his country and people with utmost dedication as Chairman of The National Confederation of Eritrean Workers after Independence.
