Mogadishu, (SONNA) –H.E. Hassan Shaikh Mohamud, President of Somalia’s Federal Republic, met with Somali scholars at the National Presidency to discuss the importance of removing Al-Shabab terrorists, who are continuously killing Somalians and preventing their country from developing.
The President instructed the Ministry of Religion and Endowments in Somalia to hold a conference of Somali scholars for discussions about the establishment of the Somali Scholars Association.
The President pointed out that the ongoing war for freedom of the country from Al Shabab terrorists is the backbone Somali scholars who are the inheritorsof our noble religion. He shared how important it is to them to support their combined struggle and knowledge with Armed Forces, as well as the people in the areas where they are hiding.
President Obama praised Somali scholars for their efforts to raise awareness about terrorist ideology and how Al-Shabab falsify Islam. He also noted that they have helped poor people and provided drought relief.
The scholars shared their advice with the President on building a government and developing the country, and praised the operations and public uprising against Al-Shabab terrorists. They also shared their support for the ongoing operations.
