Morocco, UAE discuss ways of strengthening security cooperation – The North Africa Post

National Security and Territorial Surveillance director General Abdellatif Hammouchi, received Friday the Commander-in Chief of the Abu Dhabi Police Major General Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei. He is currently visiting Morocco as the head of a large security team.

This meeting was a chance to review the levels of security coordination and areas of police cooperation on various issues of common concern, according to a statement from Directorate General of National Security.

The statement stated that the two sides also discussed ways to strengthen operational cooperation in security matters, exchange experiences and best practice to improve police training services. This was to achieve the brotherly countries’ aspirations to security and stability, and strengthen their joint efforts to combat transnational organized crime and terrorism.

The Emirati side was made aware of the Moroccan experience in maintaining public security. They were then given explanations about the structure and powers that were entrusted to various units and security formations responsible.

According to the statement this meeting reflects both the depth of cooperation between security institutions and law enforcement agents in the Kingdom of Morocco (UAE) and the convergence of views about the centrality of security cooper as an effective mechanism to address terrorist threats and security risks.
