A Rupingazi Estate family from Embu Town is in shock after their twin boys disappeared on Tuesday afternoon as the family was about to report back at school.

According to Naisera Muthoni their mother, the identical 15-year-old twins, Leon Macharia (Moi High School Mbiruri) and Ryan Mwenda (Kangaru Boys High School), vanished around noon.

She claimed they left behind their uniforms and school bags when she went to pick them up at their respective schools.

Muthoni was a Nyangwa Boys High School teacher. She said that the boys had spent most of their mornings preparing for the school’s reopening. She stated that the boys have not had an issue with indiscipline since birth, and that the only concern they had was being separated from their parents in secondary school.

Muthoni claimed that the concern arose during this holiday, but they downplayed the issue and never thought it would escalate into something that could force them to flee their home. “They severally asked us why we sent them to different schools yet they were being challenged by their peers why they agreed to be separated,” the distraught mother said.

According to their mother, their decision to separate was based on the need to help them develop their individual personalities and character. They had been together since birth and did everything together.

She stated that she only got information from the boda boda operators on the route, that they boarded a bicycle and requested to be dropped off at the Nairobi bound terminus in Embu Town.

The mother is now begging the public for help in locating them. She said that the only money she had on her children was Sh. 2, 000 she had given to them as pocket money.

Muthoni is reachable via phone number 0723511745Joseph Mwaniki, their father 0722321655.
