CHAN 2023-Qualifications: 26 countries without an approved stadium

This month of July will see the start of the 2023 African Nations Championship qualification(CHAN) is reserved for local players. Round-trip confrontations will therefore be open to 54 nations. A few weeks prior to the first round, Confederation of African Football published the list of approved venues.

This observation is uncontested. Many nations will not receive their home matches. There are 26 of them. These include Guinea, Burkina Faso (Gambia), Chad, Liberia and Niger, as well as Djibouti, Djibouti, Djibouti, and Congo Brazzaville.

It is important to note that South Africa has 9 valid stadiums, which is a significant difference from the other teams. Cameroon has 7 stadiums approved. Egypt also has 7. Morocco has 5 stadiums that comply with the standards.

The seventh African Nations Championship (CHAN 2023) is scheduled for January 8th to February 5th, 2023 in Algeria. This tournament, delayed by one year due to the Covid-19, will be contested by 18 teams. It features three groups of four and two of three, which is a great first.

Please note that for this seventh editionLibya and Morocco are automatically qualified. Algeria is the host nation, while Egypt and Tunisia didn’t register for these qualifications.
