Ivory Coast: ASEC offers you the sensation of the moment

The crowd at Marcory’s Stade Champroux (2300 seats) was finally convinced by the Asec/LYS Sassandra match (2-1, 18-day) that the Ivorians are ready to leave the Stadium. Asec is six points ahead of its pursuer, but this 21st match was won without loss. The main thing was elsewhere.

People are disappointed with the FIF’s choice of president. The vote was closed on April 23rd, 2022. This has raised concerns about stadium mobilization. To support the clubs who voted Drogba for president, including LYS Sassandra (the new figurehead) and the only Ligue 1 team to vote for the icon. According to police estimates, there were nearly 4,000 outside and 2,000 inside supporters to support the new formation.

Since April 23, LYS Sassandra has entered another dimension. The club has been the most popular on social media with more than 300,000. Subscribers were gained in just one week. Its derivative products have also become the most sought-after on the market. Drogba, who wore the sky blue jersey of the team originally from Sassandra, arrived at the stadium today.

Burundi-Primus League – Top Junior joined Bumamuru in the lead

The title contenders for the Burundi football champions are scrambling just three days before the final game. Provisionally, Bumamuru (48 points) is the first team to reach the finals. Flambeau du Center is closely behind both teams (47 points). The fourth position is occupied by Athlético New Oil (46 points). He is one point ahead of Aigle Noir, who is fifth. The fifth and the first are separated by 3 points.

The final sprint will therefore be fiercely contested. It is currently hard to predict the future champion. Bumamuru supporters are annoyed by this suspense. He was often the first to finish after the first leg. They also threatened to kill their coach if they fail to win the championship. Olivier Niyungeko (coach of this team) took these threats seriously. He has informed his leaders that his safety is his primary concern and that he will not be returning to his home.

However, things get clearer at the bottom. In fact, Royal FC and Crocos have been relegated to second division. Flambeau de l’Est is 7 behind Kayanza United who is the first non-relegation team.

Rwanda-Primus League – APR FC doesn’t give up

APR FC’s victory against Etoile de l’Est (3-1) means that APR FC (57 Points) will continue to lead the championship for the 25th day regardless of the outcome of the match between Rutsiro (53 Points) scheduled for Monday afternoon. If Kiyovu loses against this relegation fighter team, it will prove too difficult for them catch up to APR FC who are used at chasing the title.

Mukura Victory Sport lost third place to AS Kigali after a string of poor results. These poor results led to the resignation of the Spanish coach of Mukura, who was also responsible for the draw against Gorilla.

Five days before the championship’s end, the bottom of the standings is Gicumbi, who is heading straight to the second division. Rutsiro, Etoile de l’Est, however, can still believe in keeping it.
