EUROPE/MALTA – Appointment of the Nationwide Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies, Victor Agius

Vatican Metropolis (Agenzia Fides) – On February 16, 2023, Cardinal Luis Antonio G. Tagle appointed Rev. Victor Victor as Nationwide Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) in Malta for a five-year interval (2023-2028) Agius, of the clergy of the Archdiocese of Malta.
The brand new Nationwide Director is 73 years previous and has been a priest for 48 years. After an preliminary expertise within the parish, he attended a course on spirituality of communion in Frascati (1974-1977), on the Focolare Motion. He carried out his pastoral ministry as a missionary within the Philippines, in two parishes in Manila (1977-1983) and in a formation college for clergymen and seminarians (Tagaytay metropolis, Cavite), first as assistant director after which as director (1983-2002 ). He then carried out pastoral service in Macao (2002-2004) whereas finding out the Chinese language language, and later in Canada, within the parish of the Chinese language Martyrs in Markham, Ontario (2004-2006). He was accountable for the seminarians of the Focolare Motion in Grottaferrata, Rome, and a member of the Normal Council of the identical Motion (2006-2009). He returned to the Philippines as director of the formation college for clergymen and seminarians (2009-2014).
