Bangladesh’s Major General Fakhrul Ahsan appointed as MINURSO’s Force Commander – The North Africa Post

UN Secretary-Basic Antonio Guterres has appointed Bangladesh’s Main Basic Fakhrul Ahsan as Drive Commander for MINURSO, the UN peacekeeping mission within the Sahara.

The UN chief introduced the appointment on Thursday, stressing that Ahsan will succeed Main Basic Zia Ur Rehman of Pakistan.

The UNSG prolonged gratitude to the Pakistani commander, who will full his task on the finish of March.

With over 34 years of expertise in each worldwide and nationwide navy in Bangladesh, Ahsan served in a number of positions together with as a director of the Army Intelligence Directorate on the Bangladesh Military Headquarters.

Ahsan additionally served beforehand in two peacekeeping missions together with UN Operation in Somalia II and the UN Mission within the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUC).
