The information was introduced in an announcement printed by the Ministry of International Affairs, within the Official Gazette, within the part “Bulletins and press releases”.

The assertion outlines that the choice to terminate the capabilities of Mohamed Benchaaboun as ambassador to Paris takes impact on January 19. “Following royal directions, it was determined to finish the mission of Mohamed Benchaâboun as His Majesty’s ambassador to the French Republic, as of January 19, 2023,” reads the assertion.

Mohamed Benchaaboun was appointed, on October 18, 2022 managing director of the Mohammed VI Funding Fund.

Since then, the place of Moroccan ambassador to France has remained vacant, in opposition to a backdrop of persistent tensions between Rabat and Paris.
