Morocco’s Foundation for Safeguarding Rabat’s Cultural Heritage Seals Partnership Deal with UNESCO – The North Africa Post

Princess Lalla Hasnaa was President of the Foundation for the Safeguarding of the Cultural Heritage of Rabat. She presided, on Tuesday, in Paris, the signing of a five-year partnership between the Foundation (UNESCO).

In presence of UNESCO Chief Audrey Azoulay the agreement was inked by Ernesto Ottone, UNESCO Assistant Direct-General, and Nouzha Alaoui, Secretary General, of the Foundation.
It will allow the partners to concentrate on education program for young people on world heritage, UNESCO, and to engage in activities with Moroccan youth and African youth.

The Foundation has adapted to local context, the first time in the history of the world, an educational kit created by UNESCO to help young people understand and discover their city’s heritage.

On January 8th, an exhibition “Rabat, a heritage of humanity” was held to celebrate the outstanding universal value of the city of Rabat through informative boards and a series of photographs.

The Foundation and UNESCO agree to carry out an action of primary significance for the African continent. This joint action will involve the implementation of the World Heritage Convention on sites in Africa and Morocco.

Princess Lalla Hasnaa met with Mrs. Audrey Azoulay on this occasion.
