Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Mr. Isaak Mohamud Mursal welcomed the new AU representative. Amb. Mohammed El-Amine Souef at Aden Abdulle International Airport in Mogadishu on Saturday.
The Deputy foreign minister congratulated the new representative for his position as Special Rep of the Chairperson (SRCC), Head of the AU Transition Mission to Somalia (ATMIS), wishing him a successful term.

Both the Ambassador as well as the Deputy Minister highlighted the importance of ATMIS’s redoubled efforts to liberate Al Shababab. This is critical for the stability and peace of Somalia.
Finally, the Deputy Minister assured that achieving the Somali Government’s plans will maintain close and constant interaction ATMIS, and other relevant Somali stakeholders as well as international partners in supporting the implementation of the Somali Transition Plan which is a priority for the government and also broader state-building processes.
