President Hassan Sheikh reaches Mahas district; receives a warm welcome – Somali National News Agency
Mahas, (SONNA) – The President of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamud reached Mahas district of Hiiran region, which is one of the areas of the war against terrorism. The Vice-President Hirshabelle State, Chairman Hiiran region, members the Parliament and local people welcomed the President and his delegation.
President Hassan Sheikh spoke to the people of the area and the Armed Forces and praised the successes achieved in the fight against terrorism by showing courage and solidarity, and he emphasized the government’s support for the people who decided to liberate the their home town from the Khawarij.
“As long as I am the President, the government of Somalia is determined to eradicate Al-Shabaab from the country, to eliminate any terrorism. Elbur, Haradere, Aden Yabal and other areas will be freed, the President said.”
The President also listened and approved a report on the government services needs of Mahaas District residents and its areas. He promised that the Somali government will provide services to those areas that have been liberated from terrorism.
