Two men allegedly raped an 11-year old girl at Omuthiya’s Iindongo Yokeelu village.
Kauna Shikwambi, a spokesperson for police, announced the news in a Sunday crime report.
The girl was allegedly raped by the two suspects aged 20 and 21 in one of the suspect’s bedroom.
Shikwambi reported that the suspects had been arrested and would appear before the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court, Monday 10 October 2022.
Police investigations continue.
A separate incident occurred when a seven-year old girl was allegedly raped at Omuthiya’s Onanyege village by an Angolan man aged 20.
Shikwambi stated that the suspect and the girl were left at home after the girl’s parents went to fetch water.
“It’s alleged that the suspect called the victim to his bedroom and had sexual intercourse under coercive circumstances without her consent,” she said.
According to police, the girl was raped by the suspect when her parent returned.
The suspect was taken into custody and denied bail at the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court Friday, 7 Oct 2022.
Also, a 15-yearold girl from Okankolo’s Oshampula Village was allegedly raped on Thursday by a 39-yearold man.
According to the allegations, the suspect called the teenager into his bedroom and locked it. He then allegedly forced the minor to have sexual intercourse.
“The suspect and the victim were alone in the house,” said Shikwambi.
Shikwambi stated that the suspect allegedly threatened to beat victim if she reported the rape.
According to reports, the teenager told the suspect’s wife (aunt), and she took the matter further.
The suspect has not been arrested yet.
Groot Aub: A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 46-yearold man at the camp site at knife point at Groot Aub.
According to the allegations, the suspect threatened to kill the girl and set fire to her room after the rape.
The suspect was taken into police custody.
A 13-year-old girl was raped in another incident at farm Reineveld near Outjo.
“It is alleged that the suspect had sexual intercourse with a victim against her will in the suspect’s sleeping room.
“The suspect was arrested and detained at the Outjo police holding cells pending court appearance,” Shikwambi said.
