On behalf of the United States of America, I congratulate the people of Uganda on the 60th anniversary of Ugandan independence and the significant progress made in the country’s development since then. Over many decades, peoples of Uganda and the United States have worked together for the mutual benefit of their countries, especially in the area of public and global healthcare. We are also grateful for the leadership role that Uganda has played in regional security and peace through its active participation to peacekeeping operations and its policy welcoming refugees.
The United States looks forward for many more years of mutually-beneficial cooperation with Uganda.
