Today, 8 October, Eid Mewlid Al Nebi was celebrated in vibrant colors across the country.
The celebration was held at Al-Khulefa Al-Rasheedin Mosque, where Imams from various Mosques, Sheiks and a number of faithful took part. Briefings were given on the religious meanings and depths of Eid Mewlid Al-Nebi.
In his greetings to the faithful, Mr. Mohammed-Seid Beshir, Chairman of Islamic Awkaf of Asmara, called for the transfer of noble societal value to the young generation.
Sheik Salem Almuktar, Mufti in Eritrea, gave a briefing on the historical background to the Holiday and wished Happy Eid both to the Eritrean population at home and abroad.
Sheik Salem Ibrahim almuktar also wished prosperity and stability for the Eritrean people.
