Mombasa, (SONNA) – Officials from the Federal Government of Somalia, including directors and experts from the Ministries such as the Ministry of Water, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Planning, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Livestock and the Disaster Management Agency are participating in the periodic forecasting conference of CHACOF62 taking place in Mombasa, Kenya.

The conference focuses primarily on managing climate change, building resilience, as well as how to mitigate natural flooding and droughts.

Guled Cartan, Director of ICPAC, stated that it was important that member states of IGAD collaborate to make climate information more clear and to benefit from it through the production process.

The forum will continue through the 25th of August. Members will present their efforts in solving seasonal forecasting problems of CHACOF62. The ICPAC organization plays a crucial role in the management and promotion of the region, so that there can be fruitful recommendations.

The conference will include Djibouti and Ethiopia, Burundi (Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya), Somalia, Somalia, Kenya, Somalia and other Horn of Africa countries.
