Due to severe drought, thousands of people were forced to flee their homes to escape the famine.

The drought has caused alarm in recent months about the devastating effects it has had on many families.

The danger of drought is now indicated to be at a dangerous point and the regional government’s efforts won’t be enough to face the risk of drought.

The United Nations acknowledged that Somalia is in a critical drought situation. It warned that 7 million people could be forced to flee because of the drought.

Many people who were displaced in Mogadishu or other areas have received effective assistance since President H.E. Hassan sheikh Mahmud assumed office.

It is imperative to examine the increasing number of displaced people in Somalia and take immediate action from all parts of Somalia. Every Somalian person has the responsibility of contributing to the relief and collection of funds for the displaced persons who are arriving daily to the regional government centres and to Mogadishu.

“Today we are in danger, there is nothing left for us, and the Somali people must help each other,” said the Prime Minister of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, in an event to rescue the displaced people who are suffering from the effect of drought.

The heads of the Somali government are concerned by the drought situation and have asked all Somalians to join the emergency relief campaign for the displaced.

The governments of the world and international organizations of United Nations have been invited to work closely with the Somali government, who is facing a dire humanitarian situation.
