The Cabinet approved Frans Kapofi’s request to exhume and rebury martyrs’ bodies nationwide.
Peya Mushelenga, minister of information technology, stated in a Wednesday media release that the exhumation would take place with the assistance and support of the technical committee.
“Cabinet authorised the ministries of defence and veteran affairs to continue making budgetary provisions informed by in-depth analysis of the cost implications until the exhumation and reinternment of the remains of all martyrs are completed in all regions within the shortest possible time,” Mushelenga said.
He stated that Cabinet had directed Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture, to consider building a shrine national at the Kunene burial site.
