President Hassan Sheikh holds a welcoming meeting for the newly appointed cabinet – Somali National News Agency
Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, HE Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, held a welcoming meeting for the cabinet nominated members of the Federal Government of Somalia, together with Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, he congratulated them on their appointed positions.
Prime Minister Hamza was highly praised by President Obama for his extensive consultations with the Somali people and the efforts he made to build a quality government that could fulfill their aspirations for their government, and the implementation of the vision of Somalia for the world.
“The Somali people expect you to serve them honestly, to work to solve the problems they are dealing with, and for that it is essential that you work with responsibility and togetherness and keep in mind the oath and responsibility.”
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud urged the Cabinet to focus on ensuring security, drought relief, reconciliation, completing the review of the constitution, improving governance and infrastructure for the Somali people, as well as improving Somalia’s diplomatic relations with the world.
The President asked members of Somalia’s parliament to approve the cabinet so they could quickly fulfill their national mandates. He also prayed to Allah to align the interests of the Somali government and the people.
