The Central Region Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare Branch reported that more than 84 million Nakfa were disbursed in support of the families of martyrs in 2021 and 2022.
Tedros Fesehaye is the head of Social Welfare at Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare. He said that the support was part of over 5 billion 200 Nakfa that the Government of Eritrea has paid families of martyrs since 2004.
Tedros also stated that in 2021 Eritreans would have contributed 634 Thousand Nakfa to the country, and this was distributed to 95 Central Region residents who were most in need.
Concerning the rehabilitation of families of martyrs Mr. Tedros stated that six families from the sub-zones Serejeka and Gala-Nefhi were rehabilitated using mini-kisks totalling 288 thousand Nakfa.
Tedros continued by stating that seven families of martyrs in Godaif and Arbaete asmara were rehabilitated with livestock of 10 thousand Nakfa each, while material support of over 56 000 Nakfa was extended for families of martyrs living in Godaif sub-zone.
