Baby dies under mysterious circumstances – The Namibian

Kuisebmond has lost a FIVE-MONTH-old baby after its mother left her child asleep in her home on Josef Ekandjo Street.

According to police weekend crime reports, the incident took place on Saturday around 17h30.

“It is alleged that the mother left her five-month-old baby on the bed asleep and went outside. After a while, she returned to the baby’s room but the baby didn’t wake up.

“An ambulance was summoned, and the baby was certified dead on the scene. The body was taken to Walvis Bay State Hospital to undergo a Covid-19 swab and an autopsy.

“No foul play is suspected so far. Police investigation continue,” stated the crime report.

There were also two mysterious deaths reported at Maltahöhe.

The first was Saturday at the local police station, where constable Liborious Alex Isaak went in his colleague’s room to go to sleep.

“It is further alleged that when his colleague went to the room, he found constable Isaak whom he left on the bed, rolling on the floor. The deceased was taken to the hospital, but died while the nurses were working with him. The cause of death remains unknown at this point, but a postmortem is planned. The next of kin were informed. Police investigations continue,” the police report said.

On Sunday at about 03h00 at Blikkiesdorp at Maltahöhe, a 46-year-old man was found dead in his house.

According to the people he was with, the deceased went into sleep after vomiting blood.

“During the morning hours, the same people with whom he was, found him unresponsive and summoned the police who arrived with a nurse,

“He was declared dead. A postmortem will be done to determine the cause.

“The next of kin have not yet been informed and police investigations continue,” the crime report added.
