Dr. Abdel-Baqi Abdel-Qader chairs the meeting of the Khartoum State Security Committee – Sudan News

Khartoum (8/1/2022) Dr. Abdul-Baqi Abdul-Qadir Al-Zubair is a member the Transitional Sovereignty Council. He presided this evening at the meeting of security committee for Khartoum. He was accompanied by the designated governor of state, Professor Al-Tayeb Muhammad Al-Sheikh. All members of the committee were also present.

The Khartoum State Headquarters was the venue for the meeting. The committee expressed deep regret at the violations of the sanctities and health institutions that were witnessed during the protest marches. It also had mercy on the souls and wished a speedy healing for all the injured and the wounded.

The committee expressed its willingness not to use violence against peaceful demonstrators in hospitals and other health facilities and reiterated its commitment to prosecute any citizen or regular who is convicted. It also called on all demonstrators and coordinators to avoid sovereign sites and health care facilities, as demonstration is a right guaranteed under the constitution.

The Security Committee promised to send high-ranking, regular elements into hospitals to monitor any evasions by their employees. Citizens are asked to immediately report any abuse to be directly dealt with.

The committee directed that peaceful demonstrators not be pursued in residential sites, alleys or health facilities. It announced that it, along with the relevant authorities, offered condolences and visits to the hospitals whose privacy had being violated, as well as to the families of the victims.
