Zeogar Wilson (Minister of Youth and Sports) has revealed Government of Liberia programs for youth empowerment in the country.<\/p>\n Minister Wilson stated that the government has set aside funds for the implementation of the Temporary Empowerment Employment Initiative (TEMEI) for youths all over the country.<\/p>\n He said that the government has, in an attempt to realize such visions, stipulated that one million US dollars be included in the National Budget.<\/p>\n The Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS), Youth and Sport Minister, indicated that the money would be used to support youth employment programs.<\/p>\n He said that the government is determined and will continue to support the smooth running the program.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is better to be doing something than to be doing nothing, so there are things we are doing to benefit the young people,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Minister Wilson also revealed that the Ministry provided training for more than eight hundred young people in entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n He said that entrepreneurship is a key factor in youth economic growth in the country.<\/p>\n Minister Wilson noted that the Liberian Leader\u2019s desire is to ensure that all Technical Vocational Education Training Centers are well-equipped and well-functioning.<\/p>\n He pointed out that through the provision of\u00a0\u00a0 the Youth Rising Program, the\u00a0 \u00a0Monrovia Vocational Training Center and the William V.S Tubman High School have created a Wood Work Unit.<\/p>\n Minister Wilson stated that the unit was created to produce furniture for commercial use.<\/p>\n He said that the program is being managed within the 15 political subdivisions.<\/p>\n He pointed out that the government will be building the capacity of 120 teachers as part of its efforts to improve the program.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
