The Ambassador welcomed Dr. Aboubacar in Ethiopia and expressed his gratitude for UNICEF’s strong partnership. \u201cIt is a great honour to be here in Ethiopia,\u201d said Dr. Kampo. \u201cWe are committed to further strengthen our collaboration with the Government of Ethiopia to uphold the rights of children so that they can achieve their potential and contribute back to their communities in a productive and meaningful way.\u201d<\/p>\n
Dr. Kampo is both a doctor and a public-health specialist by profession. Kampo has more than 20 years of experience in both development and humanitarian contexts. He has held high-ranking positions within the United Nations Agencies and international organizations. Dr. Kampo was most recently the Director of Health Programmes for UNICEF Headquarters in New York. He also served as UNICEF Representative in Afghanistan and Cote d\u2019Ivoire. He is Malian.<\/p>\n
The new Representative will play an important role in steering the UNICEF Ethiopia Country Office<\/a><\/strong>in fulfilling its commitment to children, their families, in partnership avec the Government of Ethiopia. A strong focus is placed on innovative approaches to ensure that children in complex settings have access to basic services.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
