{"id":61807,"date":"2022-10-13T23:38:10","date_gmt":"2022-10-13T23:38:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africannewspaper.net\/2022\/10\/13\/adjudicatory-chamber-of-the-independent-ethics-committee-sanctions-former-members-of-the-normalisation-committee-of-the-venezuelan-football-association-african-business\/"},"modified":"2022-10-13T23:38:25","modified_gmt":"2022-10-13T23:38:25","slug":"adjudicatory-chamber-of-the-independent-ethics-committee-sanctions-former-members-of-the-normalisation-committee-of-the-venezuelan-football-association-african-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africannewspaper.net\/2022\/10\/13\/adjudicatory-chamber-of-the-independent-ethics-committee-sanctions-former-members-of-the-normalisation-committee-of-the-venezuelan-football-association-african-business\/","title":{"rendered":"Adjudicatory chamber of the independent Ethics Committee sanctions former members of the normalisation committee of the Venezuelan Football Association &#8211; African Business"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div data-poool=\"90\" data-poool-mode=\"hide\">\n<div><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/africannewspaper.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/1643217954_38116cbeb47815e.jpeg\" target=\"_blank\"><\/a><br \/><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-newsroom.com\/files\/download\/38116cbeb47815e\">Download logo<\/a><br \/><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/africannewspaper.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/1665704290_193_loganalytics\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\"><\/p>\n<p>Five former members (NC) of Venezuelan Football Association (FVF), as a result their conduct during their tenure(s), the adjudicatory chamber (IEC) has sanctioned them.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Laureano Gonz\u00e1lez, former president of the FVF and subsequently the chairman of the NC, has been banned from taking part in all football-related activity for a duration of five years after having been found guilty of mismanagement of FVF and FIFA funds, including through a fictitious invoicing scheme.<\/li>\n<li>Carlos Ter\u00e1n, a former member of the NC and a current member of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee, has been banned from taking part in all football-related activity for a duration of two years after having been found guilty of approving and accepting undue pecuniary advantages in the form of additional monthly payments.<\/li>\n<li>Bernardo A\u00f1or Guillam\u00f3n, Luis Eduardo Fern\u00e1ndez and Gilberto Velazco Ram\u00edrez, all former members of the NC, have each been banned from taking part in all football-related activity for a duration of one year (suspended for a probationary period of two years) after having been found guilty of approving and accepting undue pecuniary advantages in the form of additional monthly payments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additionally, the adjudicatory Chamber imposed these sanctions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A fine amounting to USD 410,363 on Mr Gonz\u00e1lez<\/li>\n<li>Individual fines amounting to CHF 10,000 on Messrs Ter\u00e1n, A\u00f1or Guillam\u00f3n, Fern\u00e1ndez and Velazco Ram\u00edrez<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>After holding separate hearings and analyzing the evidence before the adjudicatory Chamber, as well as the evidence collected by the investigatory room in each proceeding, the adjudicatory Chamber was satisfied that the above individuals had broken the FIFA Code of Ethics.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Laureano Gonz\u00e1lez: art. 13 (General duties), art. 15 (Duty to loyalty) and art. 28 (Misappropriation or misuse of funds).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Carlos Ter\u00e1n, Bernardo A\u00f1or Guillam\u00f3n, Luis Eduardo Fern\u00e1ndez and Gilberto Velazco Ram\u00edrez: art. 13 (General duties), art. 15 (Duty and loyalty), art. 19 (Conflicts and misunderstandings), art. 20 (Offering or accepting gifts or other benefits), Art. 25 (Abuses of position) and art. 28 (Misappropriation or misuse of funds).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The parties were notified today of the individual terms of the decisions. They also notified the date on the bans came into effect.
