The Ministers discussed bilateral relations and relations between the Republic of South Africa and Europe, as well as cooperation in international organizations.<\/p>\n<p>Edgars Rink\u0113vi\u010ds expressed his hope that the planned political consultations between the Foreign Ministries in Pretoria this coming October will provide an opportunity for identifying cooperation areas of mutual interest.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are interested in developing business contacts in information technology, education and science, and in the logistics and transport sector, making use of advantages offered by Latvia\u2019s ports and its airport. Signing of a convention on the prevention of double taxation, an air transport agreement, or a memorandum on economic cooperation would facilitate the unlocking of cooperation potential,\u201d Edgars Rink\u0113vi\u010ds underlined.<\/p>\n<p>Latvian Foreign Minister urged RSA to think about applying the same entry conditions to citizens of Latvia as to the largest portion of EU citizens.
