The discussion with the UK Minister for State for Development centered on bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest. Both sides also noted the need to accelerate humanitarian assistance to those affected by conflict or drought.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Demeke\u2019s discussion with the Foreign Minister of Turkey noted the friendly and time-tested relationships that exist between Ethiopia and Turkey which needs to be further strengthened with diversified engagements.<\/p>\n<p>During a conversation with his Mozambican counterpart the Deputy Prime Minister stated that Ethiopia expects Mozambique will play a positive role in its new non-permanent membership of the UN Security Council.<br \/>The Foreign Minister of Mozambique thanked Ethiopia for its support in the election and pledged to advocate African issues in line with the maxim of \u201cAfrican solutions to African problems.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mozambique, along with Ecuador and Japan, Malta, was elected in June 2022 to become a non permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.
