APR FC, Rwanda’s champions, will face US Monastir, Tunisia’s premier preliminary round of 2022\/2023 CAF Champions League.<\/p>\n
The draw for Africa\u2019s largest continental club competition took place in Cairo on Tuesday afternoon. APR was paired with the North Africans.<\/p>\n

The first leg is scheduled to take place in Kigali between 9-11, September with\u00a0the second leg slated for Tunisia a week later.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
The winner of the double header will lock horns with Egypt\u2019s Al Ahly in the next round.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Last season, APR FC was eliminated from the CAF Champions League to the Confederation Cup. They were defeated 2-1 by eventual winners RS Berkane.<\/p>\n
APR FC\u2019s biggest success in the history of African club tournaments was in the 2002\/2003 season where they reached the semifinals of then Cup Winners Cup.<\/p>\n
The CAF Confederation Cup also features AS Kigali, Rwandan Peace Cup winners, taking on ASAS Djibouti in the battle for a spot in the second round.<\/p>\n
