Spain and Europe must show solidarity with Morocco\u201d in the fight against illegal immigration networks, said Pedro S\u00e1nchez, in an interview with Spanish daily El Pa\u00eds, published Monday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is necessary to recognize the effort made by Morocco, which is also under pressure from irregular migration,\u201d S\u00e1nchez insisted, adding that \u201cthe real culprits of the violent assault carried out last week by sub-Saharan migrants against metal fence separating the cities of Nador and Melilia, are the mafias.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat happened at the fence [\u2026] was a violent attack carried out by armed migrants\u201d, he recalled, calling for \u201can exercise of empathy with Spanish security forces and Moroccan public forces, who suffered a violent attack that left hundreds of law enforcement officials injured.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>S\u00e1nchez who underlined that his country \u201chas always defended regular and orderly migration,\u201d described collaboration between Spain and Morocco in the management of migration flows as \u201cvery close\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe cooperative relationship between the two governments is frankly positive,\u201d he highlighted.<\/p>\n<p>The latest attack on the metal fence in Nador province was marked by unprecedented violence by candidates for illegal migration against law enforcement agents.
