In the first poster, Uganda challenges Kenya (1pm Gmt). The Kenyans appear to be favorites in front their opponents. Kenya is a big name in African rugby and ranks 3rd in the continent rankings. It also ranks 35th in the global rankings. The Simbas have not missed a single African Cup of Rugby Nations event since 2000, when it was created. They have participated in all editions and were crowned twice in 2011, and 2013.

They will stand in front of them Uganda XV. The Ugandans are less experienced than their opponents and will be in the position of the outsider in the quarter-final. After coming out of their qualifying group with a big win over Ghana (53-12), the Ugandans will be trying to spoil the Kenyans. Why not surprise the Kenyans by winning their sesame half?

Senegal is better armed than Algeria

Algeria will be facing Senegal in the second quarterfinal. Senegal, the only West African team in contention, seems stronger than its opponent. Algeria’s Teranga Lions Rugby team is 45th in the world rankings. They are 90th. While the construction phase of the Algerian XV is ongoing, the Lions have several dual nationals among their ranks. The Senegalese, however, are not going to be a problem for the Algerians.
