The Senatorial Committee on Social Affairs and Human Rights has set out on a field visit to see reconciliation initiatives in different parts. This will help them assess the government\u2019s progress on their reconciliation policies.<\/p>\n

According to the communiqu\u00e9 from Parliament, the tour, which began on Wednesday February 2, will last 14 days and will include reconciliation teams in 10 districts in Rwanda.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cTwo sectors in each of the ten districts will be visited where members of parliament will hold talks with grass root authorities to assess the impact of reconciliation groups, progress and hindrances,\u201d reads the statement in part.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The tour was launched in Muhanga, Rubavu and Rubavu.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The field tour follows several\u00a0exchanges between the committee, several government agencies as well as local authorities\u00a0in February and March 2021 regarding the progress of the reconciliation teams.<\/p>\n

According to the recent\u00a0reconciliation barometer, Rwanda\u2019s reconciliation efforts stand at 94.7 percent.<\/p>\n
