Bahrain reaffirms steadfast backing to Morocco’s territorial integrity – The North Africa Post

Bahrain reiterated its support to the Moroccanness of Sahara and thanked the North African Kingdom’s efforts to find a political solution to this issue, based on UN Security Council resolutions.

The supportive stand comes in a joint statement released Thursday in Manama following the 5th Moroccan-Bahraini Higher Committee’s meeting, convened under the co-chairmanship of Moroccan and Bahraini Foreign Ministers Nasser Bourita and Abdulatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.

Bahrain has also reaffirmed its full support for the autonomy plan offered by Morocco for the Sahara under its sovereignty and within the frame of the unity of the Kingdom’s national territory, stressing that the proposed Moroccan solution is in line with international law, the resolutions of the UN Security Council and the General Assembly.

The Arab Gulf state praised the royal leadership of Africa at this time and highlighted the crucial role of King Mohammed VI in advancing sustainability, peace, and stability across Africa.
Morocco thanked its brotherly country for opening a Consulate to the Moroccan Saharan City of Laayoune. This is a sign of Morocco’s legitimate rights as well as a strong ties linking the two countries.

In a joint statement, Morocco & Bahrain expressed their determination to increase their cooperation in all areas, including tourism, industry, agriculture, higher education, sports, and technology.

They agreed to strengthen their relations in the political & diplomatic fields and coordinate stands in regional and international organizations to serve the shared interests of the two brotherly countries and peoples.

They also stressed the importance to develop economic, commercial, and investment relations and invited Moroccan and Bahraini businessmen and women to take advantage of the investment opportunities in both countries.
