Iran, Eritrea Foreign Ministers (FM) discuss expansion of reciprocal ties in New York – African Business

Hossein Amirabdollahian, Iranian Foreign Minister, met with Osman Saleh Mohammed, his counterpart from Eritrea, at the UN General Assembly’s 77th Annual Meeting in New York.

The two sides discussed issues of mutual interest during their talks, including the current status of bilateral relations as well as regional developments. Hossein Amirabdollahian is the Iranian Foreign Minister. He met Osman Saleh Mohammed, the Eritrean counterpart, at the 77th annual UN General Assembly meeting in New York. 

In the meeting, Amirabdollahian lauded the history of the Eritrean people’s struggles, and noted that the administration of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi attaches special significance to the African continent, namely Eritrea’s active role in the Horn of Africa.

He expressed the hope that the two countries would work together in technical and economic areas, based on mutual respect for their values and interests.

The Eritrean foreign minister, in turn, highlighted his country’s policy of enhancing relations with regional countries, including Iran.
