After the success of the inaugural edition, the CAF Women’s Champions League, placed in the second edition. This competition will be held next October in Morocco and only eight clubs will participate. Qualifications are ongoing in different regions of the continent. Five clubs have already booked tickets.
AS FAR of Morocco automatically qualified. The second consecutive year, the Moroccan Champions will compete in the CAF Women’s Champions League. They finished third in Egypt’s inaugural edition. UNAF Zone will be represented by an Egyptian formation. Wadi Degla won this tournament after beating Banque de l’Habitat de Tunisie (2-0) and Les Algériennes d’Afak Relizane by the same score. The Egyptians will be playing in their second Champions League, just like the Moroccans.

The Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies team will also be participating in the CAF Women’s Champions League. This is the second consecutive time. Reigning champions South Africa are qualified to represent the African champion country. The Banyana Banyana won their first star in Morocco. Two representatives will be assigned to the Cosafa Zone, just as the UNAF. The other ticket from this area is awarded to the Green Buffaloes of Zambia. They won the final during these qualifications, the Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies (0-0 and 6-5 pens).

The competition will be discovered by the Liberians of Determine Grils FC. They won the UFOA A tournament with a brilliant performance. They held off AS Mandé from Mali (1-1) before winning a precious victory at home. Bountou Sylla’s feat helped Liberia defeat the US des Parcelles (1-0) from Senegal.

Only three tickets are left for the second edition. Qualifications for the CECAFA, UNIFFAC, and UFOA B zones are currently in progress.
