President Farmajo commends the decisions of the National Consultative Committee chaired by PM Roble – Somali National News Agency

Mogadishu (SONNA) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, in a keynote address on the overall situation in the country commends the decisions of the National Consultative Committee chaired by H.E Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble, and urged the Heads of State and Government to implement their agreed electoral timetable.

The President reported on the important achievements in rebuilding the Armed Forces and praised their efforts in fighting terrorist groups that have a history involving bloodshed and destruction of property.

“Our efforts and successful plans to rebuild the Armed Forces have led to our heroic forces being able to take over the security of the country today, and we are finalizing the plan to take over the security of the country from AMISOM.”

The President spoke about the country’s foreign policy process, which is based on cooperation and respect for the International Community, the protection of our country’s honor and sovereignty, which has led to our prominence in the international arena.

“Our independence oriented foreign policy has led to our prominence in international forums, such as membership in the UN Human Rights Council, which we won for the second time, as Vice President of the General Assembly. We are now a candidate in the AU and United Nations Security Council. ”

President Farmajo encouraged the Somali people to be united and solidarity as the key for our existence and national strength. He also noted the importance of the Somali youth in the unity of the country’s governance and defense.
