From our correspondent in DR Congo

As the days pass, the uncertainty grows about the participation of BC Vita club at the preliminaries to the third edition BAL. In Kinshasa, the Congo champion hasn’t yet left. As the competition starts this Wednesday, October 12 in Yaoundé. Due to the lack of financial support by the Congolese government, the Lubumbashi club is facing huge financial difficulties.

Half-hearted preparation

BC Vita club faced financial problems that prevented him from spending much time in preparation. The club divided its training into two groups. The coach was accompanied by 12 players from Lubumbashi. The other was the coach accompanied by a dozen Lubumbashi players. The intersection of the two groups did not occur until Friday, as indicated by Sports News Africa“The coach of BC Vita club, patient Felekeni. We were faced with serious financial difficulties that forced us to make a difficult preparation. One group stayed in Lubumbashi to continue their work. A few players were also training in Kinshasa. It’s difficult. This is because it is not the best way to prepare for such an event. It was difficult to join the two groups. It did finally arrive, but it was late.“, lamented the technician.

“It’s complicated to morale”

According to the latest news from BC Vita Club, the search for solutions has begun. In order to allow the Lubumbashi club to travel to Yaoundé this Tuesday evening but nothing is confirmed. Patient Felekeni is not afraid of the unknown. It is a problem for the group’s morale. Since our opponents are already there in Yaoundé. We have to keep our fingers crossed and hope. Technically speaking, poor preparation should not be a reason. We are all competitors and must be better than ourselves in every circumstance. Keep your head up and keep your eyes open to win, even though it is difficult», philosopher coach Patient Felekeni.

Despite significant reinforcements…

BC Vita Club relies heavily on its reinforcements to achieve its goal of qualifying at the elite 16. Rolly Fula Jack Kapongo, Emmanuel Isungu and Jack Kapongo have all competed in major continental tournaments. The DRC won AFROCAN 2019. They also know the BAL better, having played under Hope Fukash’s colors last season. We cannot go to Yaoundé for a simple figuration. No matter the difficulties encountered during preparation, the objective is to qualify the next round. We do not underestimate our competitors. We are confident. We have faith in our reinforcements. Their experience will prove very valuable for the first phase of BAL. This could help overcome the problems that were identified during preparation. We had to make very difficult choices. They are also players I have known since Mazembeconcludes Patient Felekeni.

BC Vita club must be able to cross Nueva Era, Espoir Basket, Gabon, and Bangui Sporting Club (CAR) in order to be included in this group.
