Two sergeants arrested for alleged corruption – The Namibian

Two Oshakati police officers have been arrested on suspicion of accepting a bribe amounting to N$2700.

The money was accepted by the officers, who were both sergeants.

They were detained on Friday.

Thomas Aiyambo (Oshana police spokesperson) claims that the two sergeants conspired in order to compile an accident report for a member the public involved in a car crash, with the intent to mislead their insurance provider.

Aiyambo indicated that the officers will appear before Oshakati Magistrate’s Court Monday.
