Morocco host African parliamentarians – New Business Ethiopia

The Bureau Members from the Pan-African Parliament ( PAP) are on an extended three-day working visit to Morocco (24-27 septembrie) with the goal of exchanging experience.

M. Rachid Talbi El Alami (Speaker of the House of Representatives) and Enaam Maiara (President of The House of Councilors of Morocco) invited the delegation. The visiting delegation is led by the Honorable M. Fortune Charumbira, President of the PAP, and composed of all four vice presidents, including the Honorable Dr Ashebir W/ Georgis, who is a member of the House of Peoples’ Representatives of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Second Vice President of the PAP.

Lomi Bedho (Deputy Speaker of The House of Representatives of FDR Ethiopia) and International Relation and Conflict Resolution Rapporter of PAP are also part of the visiting delegation.

M.Rachid Talbi El Alami was the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Morocco in a welcoming remark he made during the dinner he hosted to honor the delegation. He reiterated that Morocco, as a founding member of the Organization of the African Unity(OAU), is fully committed the ideals of Pan-Africanism. The Organization will provide all the support necessary to ensure the success of the most important organ of the African Union-the PAP.

The Honorable speaker also walked through the delegation through the scheduled visit programs over the next three days. Dr Ashsebir W/Georgis, on the other hand, expressed gratitude to H.M King Mohammed VI, Kingdom of Morocco, for its support and commitment to the African Union.

He applauded the success of Morocco in the fields of agriculture, education , infrastructure and many other fields, and said that the delegation is looking forward to gaining experience from Morocco’s success stories during the visit.

Esayas Gotta, Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary of Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to Kingdom of Morocco, and other invited friends, also attended the dinner.
