Kenyans have until November 2022 to replace old passport – Kenya News Agency

Directorate of Immigration Services announced Kenya’s intention to migrate fully to East African Community (EAC), biometric passport e-passport within 30 days.^Th November 2022.

Alexander Muteshi, Director of Immigration Services, advised Kenyans to obtain the new biometric passport e-passports in a press release sent to newsrooms. This will help to avoid any inconveniences.

“The deadline of phasing out of the old generation passport for all EAC member States is November 2022,” he stressed.

He said the decision to migrate to the new passport was agreed upon by the EAC Council of Minister’s meeting held in Arusha from 22^nd to 29^Th November 2021.
