CAN 2022 (F): Tunisia and Senegal ensure

The 2022 women’s CAN in Morocco presented three formidable oppositions on Sunday, July 3rd. Group A saw Senegal beat Uganda 2-0 by Morocco. Pool B: Cameroon and Zambia were left with a goalless draw. Tunisia beat Togo 4-1.

Tunisia won a convincing victory against Togo on Sunday. The Carthage Eagles defeated their opponents 4-1, and thus began the women’s AFCON in Morocco in a positive manner.

The Tunisians pressed the accelerator early in this match, opening up the scoring through Mariem Houtij. Sabrine Ellouzi, her teammate, followed suit eleven minutes later and broke for the team. The Togolese, despite being cornered, managed to recover before the break on penalty (22′).

In the second half The Eagles of CarthageSabrine Ellouzi (60′) allows them to resume the game and scores again. The 25-year old striker offers herself a double. Tunisia took the lead while in control. They scored a fourth goal (71′), to make it 2-1. The score will not change.

Cameroon and Zambia part ways

We have the first 0-0 of this women’s CAN. It was the Group A match between Cameroon, Zambia, and Njoya Ajara N’Chout. Despite Njoya N’Chout, their star, the Indomitable Lionesses couldn’t find the fault.
